Job Description
- Receive, sort, and register incoming dishes, instruments, and racks.
- Perform manual and mechanical cleaning according to applicable routines and standards.
- Inspect, check functionality, and perform minor maintenance on instruments.
- Assemble instruments into sets according to established instructions and picking lists.
- Package and label goods correctly for sterilization.
- Operate, monitor, and release sterilization processes according to validated methods.
- Perform daily checks, functional tests, and minor maintenance of equipment.
- Document processes, deviations, and quality controls in relevant systems.
- Ensure traceability and compliance with applicable laws, standards, and guidelines.
- Collaborate and communicate with the organization's customers regarding needs, deviations, and improvements.
Work Group
The staff group currently consists of about 20 employees. Roles and tasks are adapted according to competence, experience, and individual preferences. Work is carried out within the functions of washing, packing, care packing, and storage. Employees can work within one or more functions depending on the needs of the organization. The washing function is responsible for receiving and cleaning instruments and racks. The operation and care packing functions are responsible for inspection, maintenance, assembly, and packaging. The storage function is responsible for inventory management, replenishment, and logistics. The coordinator is responsible for the daily management of the operation, handling priorities, problem-solving, and resource allocation. The coordinator is also responsible for ongoing communication with operating units and other customers.
To strengthen community and well-being, the organization has recurring joint coffee breaks. Friday breakfasts are regularly held as a common conclusion to the work week. After-work activities are organized at recurring intervals.
About You
A vocational college degree in Instrument and Sterile Technology of at least 300 YH points is required. Practical work in a sterile technical unit is desirable. Good IT skills in Word and Excel – necessary for documentation, traceability, follow-up, statistics, and work with routines, instructions, and improvement work. Familiarity with operational and traceability systems – ensures correct registration, follow-up, and patient-safe handling of sterile goods. Good instrument knowledge – enables correct inspection, maintenance, and assembly of instrument sets. Knowledge of washing and sterilization processes – required to work according to validated methods and applicable standards. Understanding of quality systems and deviation management – contributes to high quality, safety, and continuous improvements. Basic technical understanding – facilitates troubleshooting and correct handling of equipment.
